The exterior work of Era is in progress, a 20-story apartment building located at 251 West 91st Street, Upper West Side in Manhattan. This reinforced concrete building was designed by ODA Architects and developed by Adam America Real Estate and Northlink Capital. It has an eye-catching stepped cantilever and will build 57 houses on the corner of 91st Street and Broadway. Reuveni Real Estate specializes in marketing and sales, and Urban Atelier Group is the general contractor for the project.
The photos viewed from Broadway show that limestone panels are installed on the lower half of the superstructure, some of which have upward-pointing V-shaped patterns. The window installation is also close to the last set of floors. The top mechanical extension is still covered with scaffolding and netting, and the external elevator hoist is connected to the south side of the building.

The most noteworthy architectural feature of the project is the cantilever overhanging the adjacent Equinox Stadium. When the staff assembled the outer walls of the northern outline, temporary platforms covered every part. As the project approaches completion, these will be deleted.

Era's two-bedroom, 1,252-square-foot layout starts at $2.625 million, while the five-bedroom, 3,524-square-foot unit can cost up to $13.5 million. A few people will have their own private outdoor terraces. There are also two penthouses as part of the inventory, each with an area of approximately 3,500 square feet, with more than 1,000 square feet of private outdoor space. The interior will be finished with nine-foot ceiling spans, white oak floors, custom doors and lines, Bosch washing machines and dryers, and a multi-zone HVAC system.
The penthouse will be equipped with crema delicato marble fireplaces, polished crema delicato marble kitchen countertops and matching range hoods, Waterworks polished nickel fixtures, Gaggenau appliances and waterfall islands. The bathroom includes polished Calacatta Gold and thassos mosaic floors, Calacatta Gold marble slab walls and countertops, custom white lacquered oak vanity, Duravit floor toilet, Waterworks polished nickel fixtures and radiant heated floors.
At the top of the roof railing will be an outdoor swimming pool and landscaped lounge, with 360-degree views of the Upper West Side, Hudson River, Midtown skyline, and year-round panoramic views of sunrise and sunset. Other residential facilities include a 24-hour concierge service with a double-height lobby, fitness center and yoga room, lounge, children’s playroom, youth playroom, music room, bicycle storage room, pet grooming station and private storage units available for purchase. It just leaves you speechless.
What happens during a hurricane?
The strange thing is that the developer was unable to reach an agreement with the related company and build a complete building or two side-by-side buildings (similar to the related/spring equinox building on Amsterdam Avenue), where the equinox moved for 2 years and back. The cantilever gymnastics seems to be forced. In the long run, it is unnecessary... Now there is a big vacancy under the equinox... Until a new building is forced in, but the air rights are limited.
Hope someone can save the kitten from that Petco for adoption before the building collapses? !
