Hallandale Beach, Florida. (WSVN)-On Wednesday, two workers needed rescue after their suspended platform collapsed from the side of an apartment building in Hallandale Beach.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Fire and Rescue Team, Hemispheres Condominium at 1950 S. Ocean Drive collapsed around 3 pm

As the platform collapsed, the workers were trapped on the seventh floor of the building. The platform itself is suspended from the top of the building.

According to a board member of the Homeowners Association, these people are performing concrete restoration work on the multi-million dollar project.

Shortly after arriving at the scene, the firefighters found that one worker had left the platform completely and grabbed his seat belt, while the other was on his right, clutching the partially collapsed scaffold.

At about 4:20 pm, the Broward Sheriff’s firefighters were able to rescue one of the workers by rappelling, while the other worker was taken down by the bucket of an aerial ladder after 4:30 pm

"They came down and tried to lower themselves, but they were hung up," Jinweidell said.

“When the scaffolding starts to collapse, you can imagine the thoughts of these people, they may be afraid of their lives,” said Marc Atkins, a resident of the building.

According to the Broward Sergeant Fire Rescue Team, as a precautionary measure, both workers were checked. One of the workers was taken to the district hospital due to a pain in the harness, which relieved the people who stood by. .

"This is what they did, you know? If I get into trouble, I hope these people are here," Wedel said.

The rescue took less than an hour.

"It's emotional and great. You just keep your fingers crossed and nothing will happen to anyone," Wedel said.

Sheriff Broward Fire Rescue said it took them only two minutes to reach the apartment.

The two men who were rescued are said to be safe and sound.

As for the reason for the loosening of the scaffolding, it is under investigation.
