On Thursday, strong winds swept Austin, and firefighters rescued two workers trapped on high-rise scaffolding on Thursday morning.

Austin-Travis County EMS medical staff and firefighters responded to a "scaffolding failure" at a building on the southbound service road in the 1200 block north of Interstate 35 near 12th Street at 10:14 am .

The medical staff wrote on Twitter that the workers were not injured, but were “in trouble, unable to get out of the predicament”.

The rescuers finally determined that due to the unresponsive and unsafe scaffolding equipment, the firefighters would descend to the side of the building via ropes and rescue the workers.

Medical staff said that these workers and their rescuers landed safely to the ground without any treatment.
