Coach services in Leicester city centre will be affected next week to cope with a major redevelopment project.

The works will affect customers using National Express services within Leicester next week, with the firm warning passengers of a temporary relocation of their departure and arrival stops.

It’s all to make way for the latest phase of the St Margaret’s Station redevelopment scheme.

Coming into effect from next Monday (March 7), National Express services will no longer set off or arrive at St Margaret’s Station and instead operate from a temporary stop and ticket office on Charles Street.

This new location is opposite the Kwik Fit branch.

Keith Trail, head of coach stations at National Express said all services will continue as normal throughout this temporary change.

“Our services will continue to operate as normal and we’ll have staff on hand at our new temporary location to help customers,” he said.

“We’ve also put up signage and directions from St Margaret’s to Charles Street for anyone making the short walk.”

The redevelopment of St Margaret’s Staton is due to be completed later this year.

More information about the temporary relocation can be found online.
