We added another talented H&S consultant to our team! To support our growing list of construction clients, Dave Jones joined us as a construction H&S consultant. Here are some quick questions we asked him!

Can you tell us about your experience in the construction industry?

I have never worked directly in the scaffolding industry, so it's a bit different to come to the four sides known as scaffolding experts! I have been engaged in construction work for the past 12 years, which has given me good scaffolding experience, but I certainly would not claim to be an experienced scaffolder. However, I am proficient in building safety and have helped clients of all shapes and sizes, and carried out many different activities.

Can you describe a typical Simian day?

I don't think I know what a typical day is, but it has changed so far, which is great.

What is your favorite aspect of work?

When you see the positive impact your work has on the organization or individual, you will get the most rewards.

What advice would you give to those considering a career in the construction industry?

This industry is very good for me and many of my colleagues. If you are dedicated, hardworking and [ready to learn, then the prospects for progress are very good, which can be confirmed by the fact that most of my colleagues now and in the past are from the construction industry.

Before working at Simian, what was the most unusual or interesting job you did?

I am lucky because I have worked in a wide range of industries, but the most prominent is a MOD website for calibrating submarine periscopes. It is exciting to see such a powerful and accurate kit in operation!

Apart from scaffolding, what is your dream job?

I am a football fan and I also like motorcycles. I think now that I am more willing to become a MOTOGP driver, I only need to lose 3 stones first.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Japan has always interested me, and I hope to get there one day.

I'm a big fan of Denzel Washington, so whether it's training day or equalizer.

I like many different foods, but I really like snacks.

Have you ever made your 15-minute fame?

Not really, when I played in Wrexham when I was young, I was lucky to train with Ian Rush. As a Liverpool fan, it was really special.

Bill Shankly, not part of the date, but would love to have a pint with this person, because it has always been for the people and the inspiration of the working class.

The former football player is now the coach of my boy U7 team.
