"Template Day: Avantika Bawa and May Tveit." From August 10 to December 11. University of Kentucky Dance and Theater: "Laramie Project". November 18-21. In 1998, 21-year-old Matthew Shepard died after being kidnapped, beaten and tied to a fence on a prairie on the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming, because he was gay. In the following year, the playwright Moises Kaufman and other members of the Construct Theater Project visited Laramie six times in the following year and conducted more than 200 interviews with people in the town. ; They return after 10 years to better understand the long-term effects of the murder. Kentucky Book Festival. November 1-6. The Kentucky Book Festival is a celebration of reading, writing, and publishing organized by the Kentucky College of Humanities.
