YIMBY is starting an annual countdown to the 31 tallest buildings under construction in New York City, starting at 606 West 30th Street, a 545-foot-tall residential skyscraper in Hudson Yards that recently resumed construction after a period of inactivity . Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by Lalezarian Properties, this 42-story multifunctional skyscraper has a total area of 312,350 square feet, of which 192,780 square feet will be used for residential space and 14,240 square feet will be used for commercial purposes. The Midtown Manhattan property is located between Eleventh Avenue and West Street, near the border of West Chelsea. 606 West 30th Street and adjacent 601 West 29th Street, also known as Tower B, are a 695-foot-tall skyscraper designed by FX Collaborative for Douglaston Development.

At the time of our last update in April, the construction was close to street level. Photos taken in late November show that a group of construction workers are busy assembling the metal scaffolding to support the second floor slab, installing new steel bars for the inner core wall and surrounding columns, and constructing formwork for the upcoming concrete pouring.

We can expect that the reinforced concrete building will rise rapidly because its floor slabs are stacked repeatedly, extending to the flat roof railings. The absence of setbacks above the low-rise multi-story podium will also help speed up the construction.

The following overall day and night exterior renderings depict a unified building volume, uniformly covering the floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall, with horizontal white stripes interspersed every few floors. In the center of the main north facade is a rectangular cut, facing the railway platform and the first phase of the Hudson Station of related companies.

Behind this perforated space appears to be a tall green wall. This middle section of 606 West 30th Street also appears to house residential facilities, including an indoor swimming pool and recreation areas flanking the central green space. This part of the tower also has a high ceiling height, offering panoramic views of the surrounding community and the Hudson River.

Here, we can see the street and bird's eye view of the podium, with its stretched glass grid spanning the entire property and a canopy on the sidewalk.

The revised completion date of 606 West 30th Street has not yet been announced, but YIMBY predicts it will be sometime in 2023.

The detailed work shown is beautiful, and you must view them all. Not just looking, at the bottom of the skyscraper; the bright spot is appropriate: thanks to Michael Young.

Please shut up

Why does this building take so long to be completed?

Cut out, "unbox" the box. OK..

Just in front of another building.

Another glass box for the empty field.

I can't understand the site planning of these two buildings, meaningless.

Is it really in the same location as the other building in front?

Near the top of this article, then click "601 West 29th Street" (blue). Scroll down to the 9th article. There is a picture showing the location of the building.

great! I have been looking forward to spending this year in the tallest building of the University of California in New York City. However, this project is definitely one of the weaker projects.

Box, box. , Box..? Where is WTC?
